Faucet and Plumbing Fixture Installation for Oakville Homes

Faucet installation in Oakville often comes with a look to match. In the older streets off Lakeshore Road and through Kerr Village, owners want cross-handle or bridge-style fittings that suit the house, fitted to basins that were never designed around a modern tap body.

Further north, in Glen Abbey and Joshua Creek, it is more often a straight upgrade of builder fixtures. I replace faucets, shower heads, toilets, drains, supply lines and shut-off valves in both kinds of home.

Old Oakville and Kerr Village keep a lot of original pedestal and wall-hung basins, and a period-look tap has to match the hole spacing that basin was cast with, not the one the box assumes. Bridge faucets need the two supply shanks to line up exactly, and on a pedestal there is no cabinet to hide a misalignment. So I measure the centres before anything is ordered. Down by Bronte harbour the towers are the other job, with shut-offs and elevator access to arrange first.

How It Runs

From Message to Finished Job

1
Send a photo

A picture of the sink, the cabinet underneath and the existing shut-off valves tells me most of what I need. From that I can usually price the work before I arrive and bring the right parts and connectors with me.

2
Isolate and remove

Water is shut at the stops, the lines are drained into a tray, and the old fixture comes out. Seized nuts get cut off rather than forced, and the sink deck is scraped back to clean, dry material.

3
Fit and seal

The new fixture sits on its own gasket, the mounting hardware is tightened evenly so the base does not sit skewed, fresh supply lines are fitted, and the drain assembly is sealed with the right material for your sink.

4
Test and dry

Hot and cold run at full flow, the basin is filled and drained to load the trap, then every joint is dried and rechecked. The cabinet floor goes back dry so a future drip is easy to spot early.

What Affects the Price in Oakville

Swapping a fixture on healthy shut-off valves in an open cabinet is quick work. Cost climbs when the stops are seized and have to be replaced, when corroded mounting nuts have to be cut off, when the cabinet is deep and cramped, or when a stone counter and an undermount sink make access awkward. Several fixtures done in the same visit cost less each than booking them separately. Fixtures can come from you or from me with receipts, and the price is settled before any tools come out.

Nothing starts before the price is agreed. Send a photo or two with your request and I can usually quote without a site visit.

Asked in Oakville

I want a period-looking tap on my old pedestal sink. Will it fit?

Often, but the measurement decides it. Older Oakville basins were drilled to spacings that do not always match what a modern tap expects, and a pedestal gives you nowhere to hide an adaptor. Send me a photo with a tape measure across the holes before you buy, and I will tell you which styles sit properly on that basin.
