Faucet and Plumbing Fixture Installation for Vaughan Homes

Faucet installation in Vaughan usually involves stone. The 1990s and 2000s homes in Woodbridge, Maple and Thornhill were finished with granite or quartz counters and undermount sinks, so the tap mounts through thick stone with the bowl hanging below it and very little room for a wrench.

That is a job to take slowly. I replace kitchen and bathroom faucets, shower heads, toilets, drains, supply lines and shut-off valves, and I protect the counter and the cabinet floor before I open anything.

A widespread faucet on a Vaughan vanity is three separate pieces bolted through a stone deck you cannot afford to chip, with an undermount bowl stealing the space your hands need. The mounting nuts sit deep, the basin wrench barely reaches, and old brass shanks are often corroded to the underside of the granite. In the larger Woodbridge and Kleinburg houses the vanities are tall and the cabinet floor is finished wood, so I pad it and work with the doors off rather than forcing an angle.

How It Runs

From Message to Finished Job

1
Send a photo

A picture of the sink, the cabinet underneath and the existing shut-off valves tells me most of what I need. From that I can usually price the work before I arrive and bring the right parts and connectors with me.

2
Isolate and remove

Water is shut at the stops, the lines are drained into a tray, and the old fixture comes out. Seized nuts get cut off rather than forced, and the sink deck is scraped back to clean, dry material.

3
Fit and seal

The new fixture sits on its own gasket, the mounting hardware is tightened evenly so the base does not sit skewed, fresh supply lines are fitted, and the drain assembly is sealed with the right material for your sink.

4
Test and dry

Hot and cold run at full flow, the basin is filled and drained to load the trap, then every joint is dried and rechecked. The cabinet floor goes back dry so a future drip is easy to spot early.

What Affects the Price in Vaughan

Swapping a fixture on healthy shut-off valves in an open cabinet is quick work. Cost climbs when the stops are seized and have to be replaced, when corroded mounting nuts have to be cut off, when the cabinet is deep and cramped, or when a stone counter and an undermount sink make access awkward. Several fixtures done in the same visit cost less each than booking them separately. Fixtures can come from you or from me with receipts, and the price is settled before any tools come out.

Nothing starts before the price is agreed. Send a photo or two with your request and I can usually quote without a site visit.

Asked in Vaughan

Can a faucet be changed without damaging my granite counter?

Yes, with care. The risk is not the stone itself but the tools swinging under it, so I pad the cabinet, take the doors off for room, and cut a seized mounting nut rather than lever against the underside. Old silicone comes off the surface with a plastic blade. If a shank is truly fused, I will tell you before applying any force.
